Who are we?
buro is built around the partnership between a designer and a serial design-entrepreneur whose combined professional experience gives us a unique perspective from which to explore your challenge. Now we are 3 partners, with the addition of our own user-centrered researcher.

andy harroldWith experience in project management and enterprise initiation across the retail, manufacturing and service sectors, Andy Harrold has practiced design thinking for 20 years. His professional roles have included business owner, company director, business development director and creative director for product, brand & marketing development. For over 10 years Andy owned and directed the influential lifestyle retail brand 'NICEHOUSE', for which he produced innovative products such as the CHASM & CANYON family of recycled plastic chairs which won both the Peugeot Design Prize and Millennium Award status.
Andy holds a Masters degree in design thinking from Dundee University, where his thesis focused on design research and process management. His academic output includes delivery of workshops on Design Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Strathclyde University and Dundee University.
mil stricevicMil Stricevic trained in product design following a career in the music business and holds an MA from the Royal College of Art in London. A former partner in Pavillion Design Studio, his professional resumé includes brand strategy, experience design and new product development for an international clientele across the commercial, cultural and civic sectors. His work has been worn on the feet of Italian footballers, drunk across America, featured as a question on University Challenge and spent time in prison!
An approved supplier of 'surprise & delight' to the National Trust, Mil holds a lecturing post at the Glasgow School of Art, has lectured both at home & abroad and delivered design innovation to corporations such as Buro Happold and the Eden Project.

michael johnsonMichael Pierre Johnson is a user-centred researcher and designer with special interest and experience in design research, social innovation and service design for public services. A Buro associate and former partner, Michael has worked with Snook, Skills Development Scotland and the Glasgow School of Art's Design Innovation Studio on projects across the service design spectrum in Scotland, and gained experience in project management for digital design agency, 55 degrees.

In 2012 Michael commenced his doctoral research at the Glasgow School of Art, within the Institute of Design Innovation, where the focusof his PHD will be to investigate the impact and viability of design innovation methodologies on organisational change.
